Why I Smile

I’ve been covering music for years and one of the comments I often get from people is “Why do you smile so much?  Why are you so happy?”

If you’ve ever wondered why I smile so much I will relate to you a story.

When I was young, my great-grandmother would always try to hit children with her cane.  When she succeeded in tapping one of her great-grandchildren in the knees we would inevitably wince in pain to which she would quickly reply “Don’t frown or a crow will come down from the sky and peck off your lips.”

I’m still afraid of that damned crow.

It's a grimace, close enough.

It’s a grimace, close enough.
